Once cleaned, the nut meat is usually dried and ground up, and can be used as a nutritious flour. Properly dried acorns can last up to 4 years in storage! White Oak nut meal is chock full of Vitamin A, Vitamin E, and a slew of antioxidants. The practice of eating acorns is called balanophagy.
