What a beauty! Affectionately called Mini Monstera due to the adorable young foliage that resembles a miniature Monstera, Raphidophora tetrasperma are charming, vigorous, and very easy-to-grow houseplants.
These Southeast Asian native plants thrive in bright, filtered light and appreciate high to medium humidity with moist, well-draining soil - though they can be kept on the drier side of moist. As your plants mature, watch for the ever-larger signature fenestrated leaves that make these Aroid family members so captivating!
Choose to grow them vertically on a trellis / moss pole, or let them delightfully crawl about. They can be pruned to shape so they perfectly fit your space. Feed during the growing season for vigorous development.
With proper light, support, and attention to humidity, your Mini Monsteras will reward you with lush, increasingly fenestrated foliage that become more dramatic with age. Maintain temperatures above 55°F. Mature size: 6–12' T, 1–2' W.
Plant Nerd: These plants have many names, including Mini Monstera, Monstera minima, or Philodendron 'Ginny' - but the real name is a mouthful: Rhaphidophora tetrasperma. The name Rhaphidophora refers to special crystals the plants create to ward off herbivores, tetrasperma means four-seeded.
