💚Plant Nerd: Beautiful Exbury hybrids from 1947, that are hard to find but valued by sophisticated gardeners. Exbury hybrids themselves are somewhat mysterious, in that their parentage has been lost over time - these are the results of decades of Rhododendron-loving plant breeders going wild in their gardens, but either they didn't keep records or they have been lost in the sands of time.
They bloom on old wood, so if you need to prune them, it's best to prune them immediately after they finish blooming.
